1. What times are the Museums open?

The Museum of the Gilding Arts, The Route 66 Hall of Fame & Museum, and the Pontiac-Oakland Automobile Museum are open from 9 AM to 5 PM between April and October. The Route 66 Museum and the Pontiac-Oakland Automobile Museum are open daily from 10 am to 4 pm November through March. The Museum of the Gilding Arts is open during winter (Nov - March) on Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. The Museum of the Gilding Arts is closed on Sundays during the winter.

The Livingston County War Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. On Sunday, the museum is open Noon to 4 PM.

2. What is the best day of the week to visit Pontiac?

Pontiac hosts a number of special events through the year. Most of these are weekend events. We would suggest that Saturdays are the best day to visit us. Check our events calendar to see if there are special events planned that you might enjoy. On Sundays, most of the downtown businesses are closed. However, the museums and outdoor attractions are all open on Sundays.
