Although the initial conclusion of the four-hour long hearing to determine the validity of signatures collected in support of Tony Childress' quest for the Livingston County Sheriff's November ballot indicated that he was ten signatures short of the 788 required, a late e-mail from Asst. States Attorney Carey Luckman to Childress attorney Carl Draper indicated that the deficit is now only two. Luckman said the Electoral Board had overlooked a petition sheet bearing eight valid signatures, which, when added to the previous total, now gives Childress a total of 786 approved signatures.
