The Bob Waldmire Experience is located on the 2nd floor of the Pontiac Museum Complex. The exhibit traces the artistic and spiritual development of Route 66 artist, preservationist, naturalist, and icon, Bob Waldmire. You will see examples of Bob's unique art style as it developed over the years. You will learn about Bob's family life, and view a video of Bob giving a tour of his Hackberry, Arizona home.
After you tour the Bob Waldmire Experience exhibit, be sure to visit the Route 66 Museum on the first floor to see Bob's famous VW van, and a mural he painted over several years. Then make your way out back, behind the museum, where you can view his renovated 1966 school bus, commonly referred to as his "Road Yacht." When staffing allows, the bus will be open for tours May-October. Call ahead to find out if tours are available.
